Navi ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Navi mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. Account creation is optional — you can use Navi as a guest without providing any personal information.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage data such as which phrases and countries you view, app crashes, and device type. This data is used solely to improve the Service and is not linked to your identity.

Purchase Information

If you purchase Navi+, we store a record of your purchase status (product identifier, transaction identifier, platform, and date) to unlock premium features across your devices. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) — we do not collect or store your payment card details or billing information.

Country Selection

Free and guest users select a single country to access. This selection is stored locally on your device and, if you have an account, synced to our servers so it persists across devices.

Locally Stored Data

Favourites, recently viewed countries, and offline phrase data are stored locally on your device. If you are signed in, favourites are synced to our servers to enable cross-device access.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service.
  • To sync your favourites and preferences across devices (if you have an account).
  • To verify and fulfil in-app purchases (Navi+) and unlock premium features.
  • To improve and optimise the app experience.
  • To communicate with you about updates or support requests.
  • To detect and prevent technical issues or abuse.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymous, aggregated data with analytics providers to help us understand usage patterns.

We use Supabase for authentication and data storage. Supabase processes data in accordance with their privacy policy. We may also use Vercel for hosting and analytics.

In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play). We receive only a transaction confirmation and product identifier — not your payment details. Please refer to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies for how they handle payment data.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our servers within 30 days. Anonymous usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
